Copyright (DMCA) policy.

How to report content on ShareTheStage that infringes your copyright, and how to counter-notice if your own content was removed in error.

1. Safe-harbor framework

ShareTheStage is a service provider under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). We respond to valid takedown notices, terminate the accounts of repeat infringers, and honor counter-notices in accordance with the statute.

2. How to file a takedown notice

If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (details below) containing:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner (or someone authorized to act on their behalf).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works.
  3. Identification of the material on the Platform that you believe is infringing, with enough detail (URL, profile name, message ID) for us to locate it.
  4. Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Note: Filing a false takedown notice can subject you to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

3. Designated agent

Send notices to:

DMCA Designated Agent — ShareTheStage
[COMPANY LEGAL NAME]
Attn: DMCA Agent
[COMPANY ADDRESS]
Email: dmca@sharethestage.com

Our designated agent is also registered with the U.S. Copyright Office at copyright.gov/dmca-directory.

4. What we do when we receive a valid notice

  1. We review the notice for the elements above.
  2. If valid, we remove or disable access to the identified material.
  3. We notify the user who posted the material and provide them a copy of the notice.
  4. We track the action against the user's account for our repeat-infringer policy.

5. Counter-notice procedure

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake (e.g., it was your original work, you have a license, or the use is a fair use), you may file a counter-notice. Send it to the designated agent above containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in the district where you live (or, if you live outside the U.S., the district where ShareTheStage is located) and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the original complainant and may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days, unless the complainant notifies us they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you from the infringing activity.

6. Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who are subject to repeat takedown notices in appropriate circumstances, as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A).

7. Trademarks + other IP

For trademark complaints, right-of-publicity claims, or other non-copyright IP issues, email legal@sharethestage.com with the details. These don't use the DMCA process but we'll review them promptly.
